Rock 'N Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon Recap

A couple of weeks ago (I can't believe it has already been that long!) I ran the Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon in Las Vegas. It was an awesome run with so many things to keep me occupied as I ran down the strip.

Vegas has been the location of so many important moments in my life and so I thought running 13.1 miles all over the city just seemed right. I can now boast that not only did I find the love of my life in Vegas and married him there several years later; I have also literally ran all over Vegas.

Starting line
My coral walking up to the start line together.

We started the race a mile past Mandalay Bay and ran all the way down to Fremont Street, around the surrounding neighborhoods and back, ending at the Mirage. What a rush it was to run down the strip with thousands of people cheering you on.
The race was so well organized! Over 30,000 people ran the race and although it took us quite some time to get to the start line because of the coral process, it made the race less stressful.

What made the race even more special was the fact that I ran in honor of my cousin Lydia who is affected by Crohn's disease. I am so proud to have been able to raise over $2900 to help find a cure for those with Crohn's & Colitis. I raised money and ran with Team Challenge. It was an outstanding experience and i highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to take on a big challenge!

Team Philly!
The Hardware! My favorite part of the race. Charity medal on the right, 13.1 medal on the left.
Now, with no races on the books, I am left with the task of finding my next race. Are you running any time soon? If so, what race? Maybe I will see you there!
