My job allows me the opportunity to travel to conferences throughout the country on an annual basis. I love to travel and I love to learn. When my boss puts an invite out for conference attendance, I consistently jump at the opportunity.
Between traveling for work and for pleasure, one thing that can make or break a trip is the quality of the fitness center in the hotel. This may sound silly and many friends ask me why I work out while I am on a trip. It is really very simple. When at home, there are many distractions that consistently "try" to pull me away from fitness time. When traveling, many of those competing demands, such as trash or laundry or cleaning the house or... are not in the way. It is often easier for me to prioritize working out when I am traveling than at home.
Sometimes I even choose where I stay based on the quality of the fitness center and whether or not they have good hours. Crazy? Maybe. If there is no way around staying at a location that has lacks a fitness center, I still find ways to work out.
This week I am in Boston for a couple of days for a conference. I am staying in a lovely hotel however the fitness center leaves much to be desired. Luckily, thanks to Fitfluential, I have the opportunity to try out a new work out video by Hollywood celebrity trainer Mark Twight. Mark Twight created a challenging fitness plan to help train National Guard Soldiers so that they are trained to be ready for anything.
Online workouts have really transformed how I stay fit while traveling. I love that I can work out at any time. I love that I can work out in whatever clothing I remembered to pack. I do not have to worry about people looking at me in the gym when I lack coordination or perfect moves.
Perhaps one of the most important things I appeciate about working out in the comfort of my own home or hotel room is that I can pause a work out video if my phone rings or even rewind a video if I do not get a move correct the first, second, or even third time...the only person counting is me!

Working out in your hotel room is great because you do not have to go very far to get in the shower. Online work outs provide flexibility and takes the pressure off of trying to get to the gym before it closes or having to deal with gym equipment that is not tended to on a regular basis.
