Introducing Our Newest Family Member

D has been begging and pleadingwanting a cat for a couple of years now. I have been very resistent. D had a cat when I first met him and the cat was in his teens, angry, bitter, and refused to use his litter box. There were glimpses of sweet kitty from Gizmo from time to time but I just hated the cat pee smell that infiltrated the house because of his qualms with using his litter box. It was not Gizmo's fault. When Polo and I moved in, Gizmo did not like that very much and no matter what we tried to do, Gizmo was going to get back at us by doing his business anywhere but in the litter box.

So--with much coaxing, I finally gave in. My friend at work, Lauren told me about a litter box that will make litter changing easier and that really helped make my decision. Have you heard of the Omega Paw litter box? We have one being shipped to the house expediently.

D and I had seen several cats and kitties that were being fostered by our vet and we even put in an application on one however a lady had submitted her application before us. Since weeks and months had gone by, D again mentioned to  me, more adamently than ever that he would really love a kitten.

I hopped on petfinder.com and my heart just melted. There were so many cats and kittens in our area that needed homes. I found one that I thought was adorable and promptly emailed the agency, Dumpster Cats, to find out if the kitten was still available.

I was so pleased to receive a response back within only a few moments. I was impressed as it was 10:30pm on Saturday night! I could not believe that I heard back that fast. The process to meet Socks went smoothly and quickly. I just loved working with Dumpster Cats and would highly recommend them if you are in the Delaware/Philly area.

Sox (originally spelled as Socks) became the newest member of our family as of last night. He is a funny little fella at just 10 weeks old. He has suck spunk and personality and I am so happy that we made the decision to get a kitty.

Sox. The photo is dark because I took it at night when we brought him home.
Polo is not so sure about Sox. It has not even been 24 hours yet and I know it will take some time but Polo is not sure what to think of Sox. Sox wants to be Polo's friend and even tried batting at Polo last night but Polo is cautious and does not want to be bothered. Gail, the owner of Dumpster Cats sent me some information on how to acclimate Polo and Sox and so I am hoping that with some time, they will become friends.

***Better pics to follow, I promise.***
