Prepping for Hurricane Sandy doesn't look all that different from our typical weekend. I hit the grocery store early Saturday morning and was happy that I was able to get a majority of our list. I was not able to get water however we have 2 cases already. The water shelves were bare as well as milk shelves. The grocery clerks were doing their best to keep up and restock shelves.

I made sure we have canned goods so we can easily heat those up on the grill also. Currently there is chili in the crockpot and cornbread in the oven. I also made this amazing pizza dip and fresh Italian bread because it is so good.
I have candles all over the house and boxes of matches with each. I have a bucket ready to go in case we need to take water outside so our sump pump doesn't overflow when the power goes out. We have batteries and flashlights readily available. And most importantly, I have Polo's food prepared in small baggies in case we have to go somewhere.
Laundry is in the dryer and should be done soon so we will have clean clothes to wear. The house is cleaned, dusted, and vacuumed.
I feel really prepared. D and Polo must feel like I have everything under control and prepared also because they are snuggled up on the couch as if it was any other Sunday. Football is on the tube and the house smells like delicious food. Now I can relax...
What do you do to prepare?
