This past week was busier than usual and so I struggled to find some time to clear my head and concentrate on writing. This week my head was filled with to-do lists, upcoming commitments such as projects at work, among other things.

This past week I went on a work retreat to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for a few days. I really enjoyed my time at Rehoboth and enjoyed hanging out with my coworkers and getting to know them better.

While chatting with coworkers one day someone brought up old television shows. I thought back to my favorite television shows growing up. Clarissa Explains It All and Salute Your Shorts always come to the forefront as favorites. I also enjoyed watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Charles in Charge.

One night before bed, I looked up Clarissa Explains It All and Salute Your Shorts on Nickelodeon's website. I was surprised that I could get a full episode on my iPad for free. I was giddy and excited like a school kid because it has been YEARS since I have watched either show. I felt like I was transporting back in time to being 10 years old again.

Because I was curious and wanted to reminisce, I tried to watch an episode of Clarissa Explains It All. Same goes for Salute Your Shorts.

It is interesting that I could not make it past 10 minutes of my old favorite television shows. I was bored. I didn't think any of the jokes were funny. I wasn't even fascinated by Clarissa' pal Sam climbing up a latter and entering her room through the window. I used to think that was the coolest thing ever!

I used to think Clarissa Explains It All was so funny and at now at age 30 I was bored. It is fascinating how time can change your interests. I also tried watching Salute Your Shorts and was not as entertained as I once was.

What television shows did you grow up watching? Would you still watch that show now?

I felt the same way watching an episode of Saved by the Bell recently–but after all, I usually watched it with a very high fever!

Haha! Lena, that is a great point! Perhaps next time I should watch the shows while I am snuggled up in bed on a rainy day:) I bet I would find it entertaining then:) hehe

I know what you mean, while I still love lots of my childhood programmes (like Bewitched), some I just cannot watch at all, yet used to love. One being the A-Team - I couldn't get enough of it as a child, yet in reruns as an adult - No No No! xox

haha! I adore bewitched! In fact, that is one show I can still watch. I own them all on DVD. :)

Yup! I still know the theme song by heart. It was a catchy tune for sure. Just like Fresh Prince...:)
