Free Writing Challenge Week 1

Yesterday I introduced a Free Writing Challenge on my blog. To get the challenge started, I chose to write about music today. Remember, you can write about anything you want. There are no restrictions.

My favorite music varies by genre and by my mood. There are several artists that tend to be my favorites no matter my mood. Britney Spears and Madonna tend to make this list.

Some artists I listen to when I am in a calm mood such as Sade. When feeling melancholy, I listen to Enya. When enjoying warm summer weather, I love to hear tunes by Kenny Chesney or Jimmy Buffett. Just because music tends to be Nelly Furtado or Colbie Caillat.

If I want to remember an experience, I also have a group of artists that I turn to. For example if I want to remember my time as a Resident Director at the University of California, Riverside when I lived in Pentland Hills, I listen to Fleetwood Mac. It reminds me of the period of time in my mid-20's when I was doing some deep soul searching and self discovery.
I utilize music to motivate me at work, in my craft room at home, and even daily household chores. Music motivates me to work out and the better the playlist, the better the work out.
Here is my current fitness playlist (played on shuffle):
Call Me Maybe,-Carly Rae Jepsen
Wild Ones (feat. Sia)-Flo Rida
Glad You Came-The Wanted
Til the World Ends-Britney Spears
Super Bass (Pink Friday Deluxe Version)-Nicki Minaj
In the Morning-Junior Boys
Radar-Britney Spears
Pumped up Kicks-Foster the People
Call on Me (Filterheadz Remix)-Eric Prydz
California Girls (feat. Snoop Dogg)-Katy Perry
Cheers (Drink to That)-Rihanna
Anticipating-Britney Spears
Blur-Britney Spears
Hung Up-Madonna
King of Anything-Sara Bareilles

What is your favorite kind of music? What music motivates you? Do you have a fitness playlist?

Thanks for joining me today!
