Set Up Shop Tweet Chat Invite!

Hiya dolls!

Many of you wrote in your New Year's Resolutions that setting up a Handmade Shop is on your "To-Do List" this year!

I started my Handmade shop in May and it has been a slow start.
{slow & steady wins the race, luv}

I first started out making greeting cards however that did not seem to work out for me.
[a hiya luv original flop]

No worries.
There are many things that I can do and as sewing has been a love of mine since Home Ec class {aka middle school} I decided to take it up again.

I am in {LOVE} like never before with sewing and am submerging myself in the trade.
I am learning sew much and having a great time teaching myself new things-it just feels sew good!

What is your handmade passion? What do you sell? What do you hope to sell? Have you set up shop yet?  If you do not know where to start or if you have even started and are just touching the tip of the iceberg there is a community out there for you.

There are also lovely experienced handmade shop owners who have taken the role as mentoring others and are amazing role models for those of us just starting to sell our handmade wares.

Helping one another can only further the demand for handmade and the opening of more shops.

{Won't you join me on Monday, Jan. 3 at 8pm [eastern] on twitter for a Handmade Shop Start Up Chat?}
[All you need to do is use twitter hashtag #setupshop to join the conversation!]

Psst: I have found that using TweetChat helps me follow the conversation and automatically updates the hashtag!

Tell your friends! The more the merrier!

Email me at gina at hiyaluv dot com with topic suggestions or questions to pose to the group!

I hope to see you there!

What a neat idea! I have an etsy account that lies dormant right now. In the back of my mind I think that someday I will open it... but I'm too chicken, I make excuses, I'm not confident in what I sell etc.

So - If I can, you may see me lurking and listening to the chat...

Oh Gina, I actually think your first card is fantastic! You should have seen my first ones, lol. You are definitely good at sewing, and I wish you all of the success in the world. If things work out maybe I can check out your twitter chat ;)

I started my Etsy shop with cards too and I think I've sold a grand total of like four. I've diversified and I do much better now...even though it's still slow. Good luck in the new year!
