Home Decor for Hubs & Bubs!

I have a new friend to introduce to you today!
Some of you may already know her as she was nominated as a Hiya Luv Reader's Choice crafty blog of 2010 but just in case you don't, meet Madigan! She is truly a gem!

Hi there! I am Madigan from the blog: Madigan Made. I live with my husband and pup in PA. I like to share simple ideas for crafts, recipes and decor with my readers.

<a href="" title=" madiganmade "><img src="" width="125" height="125" alt="madigan avatar" /></a><br />

I've followed Hiya Luv for awhile and I am so flattered that Gina asked me to guest post here!

Gina and I just realized recently that we both are not far from Philadelphia and we both are Philadelphia Phillies fans.
(We are sure there will be another parade down Broad Street in 2011!)

While I can appreciate sports, my husband is a huge sports fanatic! We are slowly redoing our finished basement with a sports theme.

I am a big believer in avoiding 'store-bought' art, if I can. I will try to create my own wall art or thrift for unique pieces. That way, no one else will have it and our room is more personal.

I thought I would share with you a very simple art project I made for the basement.

My husband loves baseball, football and golf. He's had this golf ball mouse pad for years. We do not use it anymore, but I saved it because I just loved the image. I knew it could look cute framed.

So, I gently peeled the top paper layer off the pad. I trimmed the paper to size and put it in a frame with a mat. Super easy!

So simple and personal, right?

Right now, I set the frame on a bookshelf in the basement next to a golf ball paperweight and a basket of chunky letters. Someday, whenever the basement is finished, I plan to show my readers the whole room.

But if you were interested in some of my other sports basement projects, check out these:

I spray painted one of my husband's old trophies to look like a bronze or iron statue.

And I spray painted more stuff and stuck it in a shadow frame... some of hubby's golf balls! LOL.

I created baseball/football/golf subway art on my computer and just had it printed as an 8x10 photo.

Finally, I framed a bunch of my husband's sports tickets and golf score cards in several Ikea frames. These were so easy to make, yet so personal.

Feel free to stop over and say hi at my blog! Along with decor ideas, you'll find crafty projects and the occasional easy recipe over there.
Thanks again, Gina, for inviting me here!

Thanks Madigan! You know me and my craze for sports! I can't wait to sift through all of our ticket stubs and make some amazing art with it! I also am going to try out that subway art idea!
I may even make one of these as a gift for my brothers!

Come by Madigan's blog today as I am guest posting over there! {wink!}

What an adorably themed basement-I love it! If only we had a basement, I could put all of John's bicycle art in it!

I should do that with old rusted trophies. Paint them to make them look new again! ^_^

I think one of your advertisements caused my internet browser to resize, you might want to put that on your blacklist.
