impatience

I talk about this weakness often.
I really should embrace this flaw and run with it; however I can't.
Impatience creeps up on me all the time. It drives me crazy. I want my way. Now.
Not in 5 minutes; 5 months; 5 years. Now. Yes, like a 5 year old. I don't care. Now.

Perhaps it stems from being spoiled by my grandparents as a child. Perhaps it stems from being the oldest of 5. Perhaps it stems from me just wanting my way. I could go on with the hypothesis' but it doesn't change the impatience.

I will tell you that God has been testing my patience for years. Dave and I met in Vegas. We dated long distance for a year with me in California and him in Delaware until I moved east. {patience tested.} I wanted to get engaged before Dave. {again, patience tested.}  Job searches never seem to pan out right away {patience tested.}
I always want to rush through life instead of taking a minute to enjoy the moment.
My patience is always tested.
Do you ever feel tested?

I found this tonight and am in {love.}

What keeps you patient?

I struggle so much with patience! I used to consider myself patient until I had Hailey. She is almost two now and she tests my patience everyday. The thing that gets me through is prayer, trust in God, the fact that God never gives us something in our lives that we can't handle, and that tomorrow will be a new day. Even with all that I still lose my patience thought! It's definitely a hard thing. I work on it everyday.

I hope you have a great week!

OH, yes. I know exactly how you feel. I wanted everything yesterday and hardly ever take a moment to enjoy it. Or trust that He has everything under control. It's a daily battle! ;)

Oh, Gina, I love that picture and sentiment. . .beautiful and so true. The older I get the more I realize that the right here and now is the gift from God. I can still be impatient, but I have the right here and the right now, so tomorrow will get here when it gets here. Have a very blessed day, my friend ;)

Oh, I am struggling with patience with trying to get pregnant right now and have been for 2 years. I'm tired of waiting for it especially when everyone around me has been getting pregnant, having their babies, and even some are pregnant again.

As a planner, I think I've trained myself to have patience. I know that the big party I'm excited about won't happen until my birthday, and so I allow the excitement to bubble without wishing it were here already, darnit!

But when that fails, I drink a glass of wine and think about something else. How's that for productive?
