the drive to create

My New Year’s resolution was not to lose weight, become healthier, or fix myself; whatever the most popular promises seem to be.

Mine was quite simple: I wanted to create and be craftier. I didn’t give myself a timeline. I didn’t pressure myself or set parameters for what being crafty was to look like.

I began exploring through blogs of course and I stumbled upon a few that you may know and love: Mandy’s Yellow Corner, Gussy, The Pleated Poppy, and others.
I immediately fell in love with the idea that these lovely ladies were talented, crafty, bloggers that were able to run a business of handmade wares.
adorable personalized stamped necklace from Mandy's Yellow Corner
a classic gussy pouch
beautiful coin/business card holder from the Pleated Poppy

{a slight obsession was born}

Or we could call it my dream job {besides being a Dean of Students}?

These ladies are so inspiring with their drive and ambition.
They are constantly creating new and fresh product and they share their lives with us over the blogosphere and twitter.

What drives you to create? Do you have a favorite handmade shop? blogger? creater/diyer?who?-please share!

One of my favorite crafty bloggers is Nicole @ Making It Lovely. Everything she does is totally droolworthy! :)

Dana from Made of course. She is also a really nice person. I love Anna from Noodlehead. Cheri from I am Momma Hear me Roar. There are so many! What drives me to create? I have no clue. I just want to. :) Fun post.

My creativity is limited to writing. I admire those who can create things like jewelry, etc., but I have not talent in that area.
I have lots of favorite blogs, all of which are listed on my profile page.
I just stopped by from SITS to say hello. Hope you will find time to do the same. Have a great day.

Gussy is one of my favorites too - I have one of her lap top bags made into a tote! I like to create too but don't nearly often enough. My drive comes from this need to show my children what they are capable of.

Gina, I love your New Years resolution-such a terrific (and do-able!) goal for the year! My mom, who designs children's dance costumes, is probably my biggest motivator to create!

fabulous resolution, and you're doing it too which is wonderful. I just get this urge/desire to create something, sometimes it's knitting (scarves are all I do), other times it's a brooch; I just get this overwhelming desire to craft, looking at nature always seems to inspire though. x
