Candy Corn Wreath {tutorial}

My dreams of opening my etsy shop are on hold for just a wee bit longer. This was going to be my very first item in the shop but Dave asked me if we could keep it. {my heart swells with love.}

I am excited to teach you how to make something really fun and yummy festive for Halloween.

I was inspired by the cover of this magazine and I am so proud that my creation came out just like it!

Here is what you need:
A styrofoam wreath
black duck duct tape (you know what I mean?)
hot glue gun and glue sticks
black ribbon
candy corn (I used 1 3/4th bags)

Now-the magazine advertised this as being an inexpensive project. I purchased the supplies for just under $27. Perhaps my craft store is over priced? Maybe you already have everything on hand? I didn't so this was pricey for me. But worth it!
supplies needed

{1} First things first:
Wrap the black duck tape around the styrofoam wreath.
why hello Polo! He loves to help me craft.

{2} Next, start glueing.
follow this pattern as the corns fit best like this.

Keep glueing all the way around and on the sides and the inside. I didn't glue corn on the back as I wanted the wreath to lay flat against the door.

{3} Tie the black ribbon around the wreath where you want it to hang.
{4} Hang on the door!
{5} YAY! You did it!

Let me know if you have questions! Happy Halloween!

I have this issue and was thinking of making it myself! Yours turned out fabulous! I'm hesitant because of the cost, I didn't think it'd be an inexpensive project either. But something so cute, probably worth it.

Adorable!

It looks great. It's a good use for all the candy corn I don't eat (i think it's kinda gross) Let me know when your shop opens. I will buy something the very first day!

Aww, that's so adorable! I would probably end up eating more than I put on the wreath, though...

That is SO CUTE! I absolutely adore this wreath! See though, I'm ridiculously untalented at crafts projects so if I tried to DIY one of these it would come out looking nothing like this! :)

wow Gina, that's fantastic! I can totally understand wanting to keep it for yourself! Thanks for sharing how (sadly we don't have candy corn over here, but I can think of other sweets I could use) x

I love this!! Sooo gonna make one of these for the back door - I am open to taking bids to see how long it takes one of my kids to pry off the candy corn and eat it.
