A tutorial?! No way!

Yes way!
I made a new blog button and I am so excited to share it with you! See-here it is! It is also in my sidebar with a button that I had made long ago.

What do you think? How did I make it you ask?

1. First I had to look for a photo that I thought was fitting for my blog. I am not a fan of copyright infringement so I actually purchased a digi scrapbook kit and used bits and pieces from it to make my new blog button! I was able to find a kit that was exactly what I was looking for for a wee $2 at Two Peas in a Bucket! You can't beat that! But if you are looking for FREE (and we all love us some FREE), Two Peas also has many, many free digi kits to choose from too.

2. After I downloaded my kit, I chose the parts i wanted to work with. The tree branch and the little house actually came together so it was really easy. I uploaded them to photobucket.com (you can also use fotoflexer.com or whatever else suits your fancy-I just don't have Adobe Photoshop so I have to use what I can find)

3. After uploading the pictures to photobucket you can edit the picture and add words to it. Click on the decorate tab (in blue 3rd over between effects and animations) at the top and then click on text. See below.

4. Make sure you click save to save your work periodically.

5. After saving your work, you may need to resize your picture to fit the sidebar of your blog. Some like the picture to be no bigger than 150x150 pixels and some like it smaller at 125x125 pixels. There is an option to resize the picture in photobucket or fotoflexer but I prefer to use another site that makes it even easier. I use www.picresize.com

6. After you have saved your resized picture to your computer, you should go back to photobucket and save it there too. You will need to use the DIRECT LINK html in the code I am about to share with you.

7. In another tab, log into your Blogger account and go to the Page Elements page. Click on "Add a Gadget" and select HTML/JavaScript
8. Copy and paste the following code in the text area:

9. Remember to change YOURBUTTONLOCATION to the direct link location in photobucket as I mentioned in step 6.

10. Remember to change YOURBLOGADDRESS to your blog address:)

Easy peasy? Let me know if you have troubles and I am more than happy to help! :)gina

Oh, wow, thanks, Gina! I've always wondered how that was done, but had no idea. Awesome ;D

For some reason no matter how many times I try to fix the problem, numbers 9 and 10 get cut off of this tutorial. I will add them here.
