the.great.escape.

As I keep whining and complaining on twitter, I loathe August with all of my being because work is out of control busy. Busy, busy, busy-as we are getting ready for all of the students to get ready to come back to school amongst a gazillion other things.

Even though I am an extrovert, even I can only take so much socializing and really value my "me" time and quiet time. In August I always feel like I need time to hide; a place to retreat. In fact, I wish I could escape.

Here's where I would go...
a cottage-far-far-away...
preferably located in the english countryside, in fact,
any of these would be just brilliant

with a room like this...

Do you ever feel like you need to escape? Where would you go?

Luv & smiles,
gina

I could so use a vacation. I'd love to go to Greece or Italy. I just love those cultures.

I definitely got some me time this weekend. . .but it was sick me time, haha. If I could have some actually 'get away' time, it would totally be a non touristy beach. Oh that would be lovely ;D

I would love a small getaway, nothing fancy. Just a girl trip and some excellent conversation and some good food!

Mmmm. . . a cottage sounds lovely :] I'd want it to be on a rocky shore in Maine.

Sometimes, I feel like I get A.D.D & have to take a getaway...anywhere even if it's with my hubby & baby. We like to explore new cities.

I like to run away to the man friends house in VA. It is always a little hide away from my real life.

I say I need to get away about once a day:/ THe last and only time Matt and I had time together for longer then a night was 6 years ago for a weekend. We are due for one!!!
Those look perfect. Heck I would take a week at my own house with no kids:)

When I need to escape I keep it pretty simple. First thing, I clean my room. Top to bottom. Clean and change all my sheets blankets and pillow cases. Open a bottle of wine. Turn off all technology. Read. It sounds simple, but it really is glorious.

I feel the need to escape all the time, but since I'm stuck here I just drink a lot.

That looks fabulous, Gina! I'd love to go away to that cottage for a while. I value my alone time as well and usually go home (my husband works a lot, so I'm often home alone) or to the beach for it. Hope you can find some alone time this week!

The English countryside sounds perfect. I would move to England in a heartbeat.

That cottage looks divine and that room? Well, I'd take that anywhere!

I am an extrovert too and I can be all social and spending time with all my friends and then eventually I just need a little "me" time and that usually involves going to the mall. I do my best shopping alone! So the mall is one getaway--in my dream getaway, I would have a little beach house in California or a beach cottage on Mackinac Island.

I love the idea of a mostly-white themed room (as shown in your pic), but then the reality of the logistics of keeping it clean overwhelm me. So much for serenity, huh? Ha! :)

Sounds perfect right now. I would adore a place like this to go!

The crazy thing is when I have so much on the to-do list, instead of getting down to business and tackling it...I want to sleep. A nap or a good night's sleep can do wonders for me. So I would choose to getaway (anywhere) with my husband. It's rare that we get much sleep with 2 early rising kids.

Not so much of an escape, but I'm always ready for a new adventure.
