Spring can be so refreshing after a brutal winter consisting of never ending snow and slush. This past weekend was absolutely perfect-the weather was gorgeous-sunny skies, 70 degrees, birds chirping, and the fresh air was delicious. I wish every weekend could be like that.

This weekend I was particularly busy with March Madness among other things but the next time we have a splendid day with perfect weather I plan on taking my fiance and Polo to a local park for a picnic. Picnics can be so relaxing and fun. Polo and I used to love to go to Laguna Beach for picnics when we lived in So Cal and I know that he would adore spending time outside with Dave and I.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when putting together a spontaneous picnic:
*Find a cute picnic basket to pack some snacks, bottles of water, soda, or perhaps even some wine.
This cute basket is great for 2 and is available on for $37!
You could also check out this amazing Chanel "picnic basket" which is really a purse. So darling!

*Bring a cozy blanket, comforter, or sheet to relax on.
*Be sure to pack finger foods that are not too messy such as little sandwiches, crackers, perhaps some cheese, a bottle of wine, and some strawberries or chocolates. (Spring is a perfect time to picnic because it is not yet hot enough to melt or spoil your goodies. AND the bugs are not too annoying just yet.)
*Make sure you pack a trash bag so you can clean up your mess! Littering is not cute.
*If you bring your furry, four-legged friend with you, remember to pack water and food bowls and a few treats for him or her.

*Lastly, it is always a good idea to bring a deck of cards or some kind of game with you to play. Some people like to bring books but I know that I would not be able to keep my fiance entertained with a book so we would play a "friendly" game of WAR over our kibbles and wine.

I love picnics :) One of my favourite things to do with my bf in the Summer. I've always wanted a big wicker picnic basket like that!
